It is no longer necessary to introduce Katrin Wouters & Karen Hendrix. For 25 years they have been designing collections which translate their sense of adventure, refinement and humour. Time and again, this has resulted in sophisticated and timeless collections, which multi-brand and department stores worldwide have fallen for.

After approximately 50 collections, the duo continue to evolve and to throw themselves into the design of new silver and gold collections without inhibition. The 25^th anniversary therefore gave Karen and Katrin the perfect excuse to set up a unique and varied project.  

For years, art, music, fashion and history have been important sources of inspiration, and they are a constant in the designers’ lives. The inspiration they have drawn from exotic cultures, but equally from the bustling cities closer to hand, have been translated into a travelling exhibition for the occasion. The duo set to work on three large authentic suitcases and transformed them into installations packed with the creative and unique objects which have claimed an important place in the world of W&H.

On  October 16th, the three suitcases will leave for a world trip lasting 8 months. Besides Belgium and the Netherlands, Paris and Tokyo are also on the programme. The suitcases will travel to our customers and various museums. In January, one suitcase will visit the BOZARSHOP in Brussels and in April it will make a 4-week stop at the MOMU (Fashion Museum) in Antwerp. You can follow all of this on our website, which will faithfully lead you along the planned route from 16 October.

W&H have also grasped this opportunity to fulfil a silent, long-cherished dream: for the first time, they have ventured their hands at designing a watch. The result is an authentic “pendule”, engraved on both sides. Only 100 pieces of this numbered collector’s item have been made and packed in a very secretive manner. Contraband for the collector!

Finally, in October, an expressive and photographic book will be published about W&H, about Karen and Katrin, their inspiration and collection.  In it, they take you with them into their world with the help of pictures, photos and archive pieces. This book will be for sale in our flagship store, from various customers and in bookshops. Both the collector’s item and the book may be purchased from our site – a first for W&H.

The exhibition, book and unique collector’s item are all available at our flagship store in Antwerp from 16 October.
