The world of fashion is a world that appeals to everyone's imagination. Too often, fashion is associated with glitter and glamour. Behind that image, lies a world of hard labour and long working hours. It's a long way from the initial design to the ready-to-wear garment. It's far from easy, because a conceptual idea needs to be transformed into a ready-to-wear shape/form/concept. The bottom line is that designer and manufacturer need to be on the same wavelength and create good lines of communication. Craftsmanship prevails.

However, the collaboration between both parties isn't always that smooth and is often caused by tensions between creation and realization.

It isn't always easy to conceptualize the sometimes difficult designs as laid out in the drawings/patterns. Nevertheless, through frequent consultation and a mutual understanding/faith both parties will find a way out.

For starting designers it's quite difficult to find the right production partner. That is why Creamoda has set up the initiative "Belgian Designer Partners". This project brings together the member companies that are willing to work with young designers in order to realize their collections. Also from production side, we are sometimes asked how they can be introduced amongst designers/how to come in contact with new/upcoming designers. With "Belgian Designer Partners" Creamoda wants to offer a platform to both parties that will hopefully create a synergy between them.
