Showroom Les Belges October 2010

Belgium is unsteadier than ever, but FFI and its Walloon counterpart, Wallonie Bruxelles Design Mode (short WBDM) refuse to go with that flow. The two institutions join forces and will be organizing a Showroom, titled ‘les belges’, during the Paris Fashion Week from October 1 until October 5 2010 of both upcoming Belgian talent and more established names. FFI selected following Flemish designers: Katrien  Van Hecke, Marko Galovic, Noor D*Izar, Peter Ceursters, Schipper/Arques, BEEN by D'Heygere and Van Hongo.  WBDM selected: Céline Pinckers, Conni Kaminski, Eric Beauduin, Filles a papa, Isabelle Azaïs and Monsieur Bul.

“It was the first time I presented my collection in Paris and yet I met a lot of international press and buyers. As I have little name recognition, I would receive a lot less attention if I would organize a showroom on my own. The collective event “Showroom Belgium” grabs people’s attention and encourages them to actually stop by and have a look.” (Katrien Van Hecke on the showroom in October 2010)
