Sarah Mower is one of her generation's most respected fashion journalists. She is younger than fashion authorities such as Hilary Alexander, Tim Blanks or Suzy Menkes and that makes her more atuned to the lives of the most recent batch of emerging British designers, whom she has always supported and promoted in the beginning of their careers. Sarah is Ambassador of Emerging Talent for the British Fashion Council and chair of the advisory panel that will award the best piece of work as part of the International Fashion Showcase on February 19. Her support and influence have been crucial in establishing Showroom Belgium's presence on the Londen Fashion Week-circuit. Sarah shares her vision on the international fashion event in London:
"Fashion doesn't have any borders! It's a global pursuit, in the way that sport is - so I am personally looking on this as a mini fashion Olympics. London is hosting the world's young athletes and in the same way, we're excited to invite the young designers of the world to put forward their ideas. London's vibrancy and vitality comes from all the talented people who come from other countries to work here - our top 'British' talents are from many nations. So it's only a natural step for us to welcome guests to show their best here, too - a city in which both buyers and journalists are looking for the new."
